The Flea by John Donne was a present a man in love with a woman who was was not in love with him. The author obviously wants to start a family with this woman and she is just in it for lust. She has no problem sinning which shows that she does not need to be in love with him to be with him. She seems to be able to find a way to justify her wrongs.
Valediction, Forbidding Mourning is another poem by John Donne and in this poem he is parting from his loved one. He believes that they should not leave being sad but to go remember all the good times they had. In both these poem he relates the way that they are united in The Flea there are both together with the Flea and in Valediction, Forbidding Mourning they are a compass.
Fox Trot Fridays by Rita Dove is another love poem that is about man and woman. This poem uses another symbol to bring them together the author uses a rib. He is describing them dancing and they rib are what attach them and keep them together.
The poem memorandum by Billie Bolton is about her hate of love. it is a write in the form of a email and is addressed to My Boyfriend from Hell. This shows her anger and how much she is hurt. In the poem she is talking about all the girls he had, everything she hated about him and, all his bad habits such as his gang affiliations.
All the poems are related through the theme of love. I can relate these poem back to when I use to go to an retirement home and feed the old people. They would tell me about there life and how they missed their loved ones.
